Avery is a third-year Art History and Fine Art student at Tufts University and the School of the Museum of Fine Arts.

Her art practice concentrates on the exploration of memory as a conduit for childhood nostalgia through print, illustration, and fiberwork. Memory becomes an untrustworthy tool we rely on in order to connect with past versions of both ourselves and the ones around us. Through her work, she aims to understand why certain motifs evoke nostalgia and how nostalgic sentiments elicit both malaise and consolation. She wants to create a sense of cultivated intimacy, a manufactured history that pieces together fragmented memories and forgotten photographs.
